Tuberculosis remains a serious global health challenge, and the NANOBICAR Consortium is commited with the urgent need for new and effective solutions. Our international team, comprising 12 partner organizations from 5 countries, is dedicated to a revolutionary immunotherapeutic approach.
By harnessing the power of mRNA-loaded lipid nanoparticles, we aim to develop a safe, cost-effective, and resistance-free alternative for treating both intra- and extracellular bacterial infections, starting with tuberculosis as our proof of concept. Our focus is specifically on designing a treatment that is suitable for use in high-burden and low-resource settings, where the need is most critical.
