We are thrilled to share our new project video, illustrating NanoBiCar approach against bacterial infections.
Bacterial infections remain a global health crisis, responsible for one in five deaths worldwide. As antimicrobial resistance rises, traditional antibiotics often struggle to reach “hidden” intracellular reservoirs.
NanoBiCar, an EIC Pathfinder Open project funded by the European Innovation Council, is introducing a new paradigm. Instead of targeting pathogens directly with antibiotics, we are developing a nanotechnology-based immunotherapy. By using mRNA delivered via lipid nanoparticles, we aim to reprogram the immune system to recognize and eliminate bacteria.
With tuberculosis as our proof of concept, we are working toward a future of safe, adaptable treatments suitable for all resource settings. Watch the video above to see how our international consortium of experts is advancing responsible innovation in nanomedicine.
